I’m currently working in the Belgian Ardennes, where 5 bands , 15 producer engineers, psychiatrists are residing in a big castle in the middle nowhere. Swarmed in a creative process, Band in a Barn is the Holistic entity within the music industry.

Mastering Fall into my arms album
Final steps on the Fall into my arms project. I’ve been mastering the 11(12?) tracks that are going to feature on the album. Meanwhile the other are finishing the documentary, artwork so everything will be ready to be put on CD and DVD.

Dearworld : NEXT BEST BAND tour thru Netherlands
Things are on a roll for Dearworld. Together with the guys we’ve been working hard all summer to record, produce and finetune our liveshow. Soon our first demo EP will be available and to kickstart things we’ve been selected by NEXT BEST BAND.
Together with the rising stars from Hunting the Robot we’ll do a small club tour thru the Netherlands the coming weeks.

In Dutch :
Het afstudeer project van Niko Himschoot zal vertoond worden op het Filmfestival in Gent. Deze experimentele en innovatieve film doet ondertussen veel stof opwaaien en wordt al getipt als de revelatie van het Festival door de Standaard.
Niko heeft samen met zijn enthousiaste crew maanden gewerkt aan deze 3D en surround film.
Wout Fringe, hoofd geluid, heeft de premix met surroundsetting in de HOMEstudios volbracht om daarna in een volwaardige Imax studio af te werken.
We zijn heel erg benieuwd naar wat komen zal en HOME wenst de hele crew en cast alvast veel succes met dit spannende project!

Mixing MOTOR remix of Depeche Mode
Last weekend we were playing as support act for the infamous MOTOR in the Netherlands. Our funny backstage conversation resulted in a new project for HOME.
Currently i’m busy mixing a new track produced by MOTOR remixing a track from Depeche Mode.
Last year MOTOR has been busy touring with the band and they have just released their new album.

Looking for an interesting mix between soul/funk /r’n'b and electronical elements we have been writing several songs.
Rik Mol – Funk on me : Album out now!
Wonderboy Dutch trumpetist Rik Mol has finished his new album “Funk on me”. Where his debut album contained a sultry jazz and grateful funk style, Funk On Me has a dose of pop added to funk and soul.
Having produced and recorded his album at Marmalade Music I’ve been involved in some of the recordings for this album such as the drum the drumtracks played by Derrick McKenzie, Jamiroquai’s drummer.
More collaborations can be found on this album with Nate James ( voted best UK Soul act 2007 ), Lex Empress ( Kraak & Smaak ) and Keith Anderson (Herbie Hancock,Marcus Miller, Roy Hargrove).

It’s a daring 3D project called Tranche d’Immeuble where the life of an appartment and it’s residents is portraited.

HOMEstudios new premesis : Democrazy collaboration
HOMEstudio is moving! Our new building is right in the centre of Ghent in an old militairy complex called : Leopoldskazerne. This building has been constructed in 1890. It has served in the 2 World Wars. Later it has been used as a medical centre. Nowadays this is a culutural establishment housing the HISK ( School for Fine Arts ), Nucleo ( Artists workshops ) and rehearsal rooms from our partner DEMOCRAZY. …

Projects from the Past : Thomas Azier, quirky and fresh!
The second and beforelast focus on the Unsigned project I’ve done at the Marmalade studio in Delft, Holland.
Thomas Azier struck me with his fresh and stubborn appraoch to making music. Being a man of all trades he finds himself shipping thru the waters of electronic music and easely anchoring on the pop and jazz shores, feeling just at home.
During the “When pop meets jazz” project he delivered two very nice songs I’ve been involved with in the recording stage of the tracks.

“Sven Hammond Soul” new album hitting hard!
A couple of weeks ago Sven Figee aka “Sven Hamond Soul” released his new rocking organ album; The Marmalade Sessions. This album features several artists accompanied by the Sven Hammond Soul band and obviously the screaming Hammond organ of Sven.
The first single `Spinning Out´ is being plugged on the main dutch radio stations and is hitting hard.
